Wenzel Kreuziger

1834 - 1916

Wenzel Kreuziger, 612 North Second Street, died August 8, 1916, of heart trouble.

He was a native of Landskron, Bohemia, where he was born on September 28, 1834.  He was married in his native land to Miss Anna Krueziger on November 9, 1859, who survives him with six children.  Strangely enough, though no blood relationship with her husband existed, her maiden name was also Kreuziger.

He came to this country in April, 1867, bringing with him his wife and the three children, who were born in Germany.

Mr. Kreuziger settled on a farm in the town of Shields near Richwood. The family resided there for five years, then nineteen years in the town of Clyman, eight years in the town of Emmet, and for the last seventeen years in Watertown.

His widowed wife Anna died a few months afterwards, on December 30, 1916.

Funeral services were held at St Henry’s.  Interment was in St. Henry's Cemetery.

Father Schweitzer in honor of the event.  Mr. and Mrs. Krenziger were married in Germany on November 9, 1858, and came to America in 1867, and since then have resided on farms in Shields, Clyman and Emmet, removing to this city in 1899.  Mr. Kreuziger is 74 years and his wife 79, and both are enjoying excellent health.  They are the parents of six children, John of Milwaukee, Wenzel of Clyman, Emil and Edward of Emmet, Mrs. George Engelhardt of Hubbleton, and Miss Mary Engelhardt of Watertown.  There are also 26 grandchildren.  Their many friends wish this venerable couple many happy returns of their wedding day.
