Lillian B. Stoppenbach

 

1921 - 2007

 

Lillian B. Stoppenbach, 86, of Watertown passed away peacefully on Monday, July 2, 2007, at Golden Living Center in Watertown.

 

She was born on Feb. 21, 1921, in Watertown, the daughter of the late Percy and Mabel (Rinehart) Heinrich. She married Thomas Stoppenbach of Watertown on Sept. 3, 1950, at First United Methodist Church.

 

She was a graduate of Watertown High School and a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

 

Lilly enjoyed bird watching, especially her favorite cardinals, and tending to her flowers. Most of all, she treasured time with her family, and she devoted her life to them.

 

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Stoppenbach of Watertown; two daughters, Julie (Michael) Milbrath of Madison and Lori (Grant) Gerth of Quincy, Ill.; one son, Daniel Stoppenbach of McFarland; and four grandchildren, Erika, Ryan, Daniel, and Sarah; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Olive Powers; and her brother, Harold.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown with the Rev. Lee Meissner officiating.

 

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
