had been a patient since Thanksgiving Day.
He had been ill for several weeks Because of his advanced age his
recovery was doubtful from the time he was stricken. He passed away peacefully in his sleep,
shortly after 4 o’clock.
Mr. Stallmann
was born in Watertown and made this his home throughout his life. He resided at
301 Milwaukee Street.
He was a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Louis Stallmann, who were among the early residents
of Watertown. In 1893 he married Miss
Ida Failmetzger.
She preceded him in death seven years ago.
Surviving are one daughter.
Mrs. Edward Arden Sipp of Oak Park, Ill., and two sons, Alvin H. Stallmann, city clerk of Watertown, and Carl Stallmann, who is associated with his father in the cheese

pay their respects and on Thursday up to the time of the service.
Mr. Stallmann
was among Watertown’s substantial citizens, a man who through a long business
career here became widely known both among city and rural people and who had
friends scattered in many other cities.
He was a man who retained a civic mindedness up through his advancing
years and always took a personal interest in anything that marked progress in
the community. He was an intimate of Ralph D. Blumenfeld,
Watertown-born London newspaper man and corresponded regularly with him,
receiving his last letter only a few days ago.
Mr. Stallmann
remained active until his last illness, taking personal charge of his office
and almost daily paid several visits to the main business section of the city
and always enjoyed greeting old friends.
He will be greatly missed by young and old alike.
