Margaret Schlesner

1919 - 2009

Margaret I. Schlesner, 89, of Watertown, passed away Wednesday morning, April 15, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Watertown following a brief illness.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Terry Larson officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

 

Memorials may be given to the church.

 

The former Margaret Irene Wolf was born in Watertown on April 24, 1919, daughter of Max and Mary (Roth) Wolf.  On Dec. 22, 1942, she married Elmer Schlesner at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown.  Elmer preceded her in death on March 25, 1949.

 

Margaret graduated from Watertown High School in 1936.  She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, where she taught Sunday school.  Margaret enjoyed reading.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Roy A.) Wolff of Watertown; two grandchildren, Jesse and Skye Wolff; two sisters-in-law, Rosalie (Pete) Colletti of Watertown and Lucille Krueger of Watertown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Margaret was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marion Wolf and Helen Wolf; and a brother, Melvin Wolf.

 

She was the last member of her immediate family.
