Paul W. Martin Jr.

1951 - 2006

 

Paul W. Martin Jr., 54, of Watertown, died January 18, 2006, at Watertown Memorial Hospital.

 

Funeral services will be held at Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown with the Rev. Lee Meissner of Christ United Methodist Church and the Rev. Ray Bezanson of Advent Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

Paul was born July 6, 1951, in East St. Louis, Ill., son of Paul W. Sr. and Rachel (Burdell) Martin. He married Fay Engsberg on March 10, 1973, at Lake Mills Moravian Church in Lake Mills. Paul was a 1969 graduate of Lake Mills High School and a 1973 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He had been employed at De La Rue Cash Systems Inc. in Watertown for 32 years.

 

Paul was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown, serving on various boards and committees. He was also a lay speaker, Sunday school teacher and confirmation mentor. His family and church were very important to him. Paul had also served as past president of the Watertown Athletic Booster Club and was a board member of the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce. He loved the game of golf and was an avid sports fan.

 

Surviving are his wife, Fay Martin of Watertown; a daughter, Michelle (Chad) Pearson of Janesville; two sons, Brian (Lisa) Martin of Watertown and Kevin (Julie Edmunson) Martin of Watertown; two grandsons, Damien Lopez and Dylan Martin; his mother, Rachel Martin of Lake Mills; three sisters, Kathy (Dennis) Meschke-Haferman of Jefferson, Cora (James) Miller of Tampa Bay, Fla., and Toni Martin of Johnson Creek; three brothers, Mark (Nancy) Martin, David (Sue) Martin and Daniel Martin, all of Lake Mills; his father- and mother-in-law, Eugene and Marion Engsberg of Lake Mills; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his father.
