Henry H. Lamp

Henry “Hank” H. Lamp, 85, of Watertown, passed away on Saturday morning, Jan. 22, 2011, at the Watertown Regional Medical Center in Watertown.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Watertown with the Rev. John Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials if desired may be directed to the First Congregational United Church of Christ or the charity of one's choice.
The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is in charge of arrangements.
Henry Harold Lamp was born on Feb. 20, 1925, in Beaver Dam, son of Henry and Bertha (Lenz) Lamp. A year after his birth, Henry and his family moved to Watertown. Henry attended Watertown Senior High School. He then became a member of the United States Marines, assigned to communications. Henry served his country in the South Pacific during World War II.
On Aug. 1, 1953, he married the former Audrey Butts in Watertown.
Hank had been employed at Wisconsin Bell for 38 years. After his retirement from Wisconsin Bell, he owned and operated Hank's Precision Sharpening in Watertown until his retirement. Hank was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and the Telephone Pioneers, and a past member of the Watertown Humane Society, Watertown Conservation Club and other various hunting clubs in the area. He was a hunters safety instructor. Hank raised, trained and had showed many Golden Retrievers. He was an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman. He had always been involved with his children and grandchildren's activities.
Hank is survived by his wife, Audrey of Watertown; three sons, Steven (Margaret) Lamp of Loveland, Colo., William Lamp of Watertown and James (Kathy) Lamp of Oconomowoc; five grandchildren, Abigail Lamp, Joshua Lamp, Ryan (Amanda) Lamp, Christopher Lamp and Corey Lamp; two brothers, Robert (Jennie) Lamp of Rockford, Ill., and Clinton “Kinks” Lamp of Texas; nephews, other relatives and friends.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
