Ervin Finder

1906 - 2003

 

Ervin C. Finder, 97, of Watertown, died on Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Marquardt Memorial Manor, Watertown.

 

Memorial services were held on August 23 at the Lake Mills Moravian Church. The Rev. John McCarthy officiated. The cremains were buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

Ervin was born on April 9, 1906, in Milford township, the son of the late William and Eda (Pautsch) Finder. He was married to Flora C. Elske of Johnson Creek on April 23, 1938, at Pardeeville. She died on June 20, 1998.

 

Ervin graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1923. He had been employed by the former James Manufacturing in Fort Atkinson for 11 years, then farmed in the town of Milford for 35 years, retiring on May 5, 1972. He then moved to Watertown. He was a member of the Lake Mills Moravian Church, had served as an elder; was a member of Zippy Moravian Adults; AARP Chapter 2007 of Watertown, and the Watertown Conservation Club.

 

Survivors include one son, Earl (Ann), Shoreview, Minn.; three grandchildren, Jay, Steve (Tonya), and Jennifer (James) Meyer; one great-granddaughter, Emily Ann; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and William, and one sister, Gladys Moehrke.

 

The Claussen Funeral Home, Lake Mills, served the family.
