Marion (Thauer) Brown

More
than anything, Marion (Thauer) Brown will be missed. When she died on July 18, 2004, at Cedar Crest
Health Care Center in Janesville, Marion left behind many loved ones and
friends whose lives she touched and enriched in her 102 years.
She
was interred with her husband in Oak Hill Cemetery,
Watertown, the Rev. Del Klink officiating.
Funeral
arrangements were handled by Schneider, Apfel, Schneider & Schneider Funeral Home.
The
former Marion Thauer was born
Marion
worked for a time at a university laboratory, and her husband was employed by
the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture and became director of the Wisconsin
Dairy and Food Laboratory.
Marion
was involved in Madison as a volunteer with Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, church
groups, the Audubon Society, elementary school tutoring, teaching English to
wives of foreign university students and St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary. She was
a reader, writer and learner throughout her lifetime.
During
their many years in Madison, Wayne and Marion resided in Nakoma
and later at Oakwood Village prior to moving to Janesville in 1997 to be near
their daughter.
Surviving
are a son, Larry (Betty) Brown of Reno, Nev.; a daughter, Mary (Lavern)
Anderson of Janesville; six grandchildren, Janice (Rob) Gray, Tanya Brown, Maribeth (Jim) Buggs, Will (Mary
Edith) Anderson, Margaret (Igor) Vaysman and Ellen
Anderson; and three great-granddaughters, Kathryn Buggs,
Eva Anderson and Lily Vaysman.
Marion
was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne on
