Joseph Butscher, a pioneer resident of Watertown, died on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1908. Deceased as born on January 11, 1826, and in 1849 came to America. In 1855 he located to this city and for a time engaged in the furniture business and afterwards conducted a dry goods and clothing store in Main Street. His wife and four children survive him, being Albert and Theodore of Boyd, and Joseph of Minneapolis, Mary of this city. Saturday morning at 9 o’clock his funeral will take place from St. Henry’s church.

Joseph Butscher,

On Thursday, October 26, 1911, Mrs. Margaret Butscher, widow of the late William Butscher, died at the family home in Main Street, at the
close of a long illness. Mrs. Butscher was
born in Bullock, Bavaria, Germany, July 26, 1830, and when 16 years old came to
America, locating in New York, where in 1852 she was married to Mr. Butscher. Shortly after they removed to
Hartford, Conn., and resided there two years, and then came west and located in
Watertown in 1855, residing here ever since. Three sons and one
daughter survive her, being Albert and Theodore Butscher of
__?__, Joseph Butscher of Minneapolis and
Miss Mary Butscher of this
city. Twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also
survive her. Saturday morning at 10 o’clock her funeral took place
from St. Henry’s Catholic Church. The interment was in St. Henry’s
Cemetery.
