Werneburg - Derr

1959

 

St. Henry’s was the setting on May 23, 1959, for the ceremony which united in marriage Miss Carol Joan Werneburg and Robert A. Derr.  The Very Rev Anthony J. Herrmann officiated at the nuptial High Mass.

 

Parents of the young couple are Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Werneburg, 1006 Lyndell St, Watertown, and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Derr, Columbus.

 

Miss Susan Justmann served as maid of honor for her cousin. Bridal aide was Mrs. Ned (Barbara) Timm, also a cousin of the bride.

 

Flower girl was Shirley Derr, niece of the groom.

 

Best man for his brother was Jerome Derr while groomsman was Donald Swatek, cousin of the groom. Alan Jesberger, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer. Ushering duties were performed by Donald Krueger and Allen Schmitt. A wedding dinner was held at the Plattdeutscher Hall which was also the scene of the reception.

 

The new Mrs. Derr is a graduate of Watertown High School and was formerly employed in the office of the Durant Manufacturing Company. Her husband graduated from Columbus High School and served for three and one-half years in the United States Air Force. He is employed by Sears Roebuck and Company, Madison.

 

After a honeymoon trip through the eastern states, the newlyweds will reside in Madison.
