Cayan-Schumann

1968

Carol Cayan is Bride of L. Schumann

Miss Carol Ellen Cayan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cayan, 109 Herman Street, and Lavern Edward Schumann, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Schumann, 608 South Second Street, were married on April 27, the 12:30 p.m. ceremony taking place in St. Henry's Catholic Church.  Officiating was Father Beckius.

The bride selected a gown of organza and peau d'ange lace.  The A-line skirt was accented by appliques of lace and two wide bands circled the hemline.  The bodice and long sleeves were styled of peau d'ange lace and scallops edged the empire waistline.  Peau d'ange lace details caught the detachable train at the shoulders.  A forward headpiece of organza was edged with pearls and secured the bouffant tiered imported illusion veil.  The bride carried a bouquet of yellow roses and stephanotis.

Floor length gowns of maize chiffon over peau were worn by the attendants.  The A-line empire skirts were highlighted by a full back and the uplifted waistline bodices and long Bishop sleeves were of white patterned tulle under maize chiffon.  Their forward headpieces were of imported hair braid leaves centered with lilies of valley.  They carried bouquets of yellow daisies and yellow carnations.  Attending as maid of honor was Miss Susan Cayan. Bridesmaids were Miss Linda Schumann and Miss Linda Cayan.

Flower girl was Debbie Miller.

Attending as best man was Ronald Krueger.  Groomsmen were Thomas Ready and Patrick Henze.  Greg Sterwald served as ring bearer.

The wedding reception was held at the Wethonkitha Club.

The bride and groom are graduates of Watertown High School.  She is employed as a clerk at the National Food Store.  The groom completed military service and is a policeman with the Watertown Police Department.

The newlyweds will reside at 314 1/2 North Avenue, Watertown.
