Sylvia Wilde
Sylvia M. Wilde, age 90, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Marquardt Memorial Manor.
Sylvia Roffeis was born on Dec. 11, 1921, in Watertown, the daughter of Emil and Jeanette (Richter) Roffeis. Sylvia had been employed at Bethesda Lutheran Home and retired in 1984 after 20 years of service. She was a lifelong member of St. Henry Catholic Church, the usher society, Christian Mother’s and Altar Confraternity and a former member of the Catholic Women’s Club. Sylvia had been a board member for the Watertown Food Pantry. She delivered church bulletins since 1976 to Marquardt Village and Beverly Terrace where she volunteered for over 20 years. Sylvia had been the Watertown coordinator for the Monsignor Thomas Campion Handicap Day at Monroe.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette Mary Miller, of Avon, Minn.; two grandchildren, Jamie (Michelle) Miller and Jeremiah (Sara) Miller, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clarence Roffeis; a sister, Dorothy Cizek and a son-in-law, Jack Miller.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church with the Rev. Jorge Miramontes celebrating. Family burial will be in St. Henry Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family. Online condolences may be left at watertownwifuneralhome.com.
