Thomas ‘Tom’ J. Werner

 

1948- 2018

 

Thomas “Tom” J. Werner, 70, of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

 

A memorial service will be held on Monday at noon at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with Father Patrick Wendler officiating.  Burial will take place in St. Henry Parish Cemetery.

 

Thomas Joseph Werner was born on April 23, 1948, in Watertown, the son of Ruben and Evelyn (nee Nimm) Werner.  He attended St. Henry Catholic Grade School and was a 1966 graduate of Watertown High School. On Oct. 9, 1971, he was united in marriage to Sandra Roethle at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown.

 

Tom was employed as a welder at Kusel Equipment Co. in Watertown as well as APV Crepaco in Lake Mills for over 25 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR.  He was a member of the Juneau Rod & Gun Club.

 

Tom is survived by his wife, Sandy Werner of Watertown; children, Sherry (Louis) Strupp, Amy (David) Liesch, both of Watertown, and Brian (Jaclynn) Werner of Greenwood, Arkansas; grandchildren, Henry Strupp, Iris Liesch, Margaret Strupp, Samuel Strupp, Brett Strupp, Carole Ann Werner and Lily Werner; brother, James (Mary) Werner of Watertown; as well as other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, John and Grace Roethle; sister-in-law, Mary Roethle; and brother-in-law, Gary McFatridge.
