Sylvester Weisensel

1915 - 2003

Sylvester Weisensel Sr., 87, of East Bristol, died March 25, 2003.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in East Bristol and burial was in the church cemetery, followed by military rites.

Sylvester was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Columbus, son of Joseph and Agnes (Weisman) Weisensel. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the African, Italian and Sicilian theaters from 1942 to 1946.

Sylvester married the former Stella Meitner on Sept. 24, 1946, at St. Henry’s Church in Watertown.

He farmed and later bought the Bristol Mills in East Bristol and built a home there in 1956. He later sold the mill and worked for Spahn Enterprises for a number of years before retiring.
