Joyce A. Velez

1930 - 2007

 

Joyce A. McKee Velez, 77, of Watertown, died on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at her home.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown with the Rev. Father Bernard E. Rott officiating. Burial will be in Rock Lake Cemetery, Lake Mills.

 

Friends and relatives may call to pay their respects at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

 

The Pederson Funeral Home of Watertown is serving the family.

 

Memorials are suggested to the Rolland Nelson Crossroads Hospice or St. Henry Catholic Church.

 

The former Joyce Prieve was born June 30, 1930, in Berlin, daughter of Alex and Almyra (Bowden) Prieve. She was a graduate of Waterloo High School and the Dodge County Teachers College.

 

Joyce and Harry McKee were married for 23 years. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

 

Surviving are a daughter, Susan (Timothy) Godfroy of Watertown; four sons, Thomas (Sandra) McKee of Whitewater, John McKee of Reeseville, Terry (Christine) McKee of Watertown and Gene (Wendy) McKee of Portage; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Arnie) Wodill of Beaver Dam; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister in infancy.
