John M. Stien

1876 - 1951

 

John M. Stien, 75, well known retired railroad man whose home was at 802 North Fourth Street died September 27, 1951, in St. Mary’s Hospital. He had been ill for some time.

 

Mr. Stein was a member of St. Henry's.  The Rev. A. J. Herrmann officiated. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Portage.

 

John was a native of Tomah and was born Sept. 24, 1876, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stien. For many years he was a conductor for the Milwaukee Road.  He had lived in Watertown the previous 13 years and prior to that resided in Green Bay and other localities. In 1897 he was married to Anna Lucas in Rushford, Minn. She preceded him in death in Watertown on May 16, 1950.
