Elizabeth Steffen

1922-2003

 

 

Elizabeth "Betty" Florence Steffen, 80, of Watertown, died Feb. 11, 2003.

 

A Memorial Mass was held at St. Henry’s Catholic Church. It was Betty's wish to donate her body to science at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

 

She was born Oct. 17, 1922, in the town of Clyman, the daughter of Maud Elizabeth (Carey) and Anthony Isadore Metzger. She married Vernon Melvin Steffen on Dec. 1, 1945, at St. Henry’s. She attended elementary school in the town of Lowell and was a graduate of Watertown Senior High School.

 

Betty was a homemaker and had been employed at the former Aunt Nellies Canning Co. in Clyman. She had also been employed at the former Gambles Department Store in Watertown, at the former A & L Gifts also in Watertown, for a clean towel service in Watertown and in sales for a roofing and siding company.

 

She was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church.
