Anna Stangler

1911 - 2006

 

Anna M. Stangler, 95, of Watertown, died February 26, 2006, at Beverly Terrace.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at St. Henry’s Catholic Church with Father Bernard Rott officiating. Family burial will be in the parish cemetery.

 

The Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family.

 

The former Anna M. Nimm was born Jan. 27, 1911, in Watertown, daughter of Joseph and Adelaid (David) Nimm. She attended St. Henry’s Catholic School and Watertown Senior High School.

 

On Oct. 16, 1935, she married Herbert Stangler at St. Henry’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1991.

 

Anna and her husband farmed in the town of Emmet for 41 years. She was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and Altar Confraternity, Catholic Knights and homemakers. Anna had been a volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul and loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews. She also loved to sew, crochet and knit.

 

Survivors include her brothers, George Nimm, Francis Nimm, Robert (Donna) Nimm and Gerald (Barbara) Nimm, all of Watertown; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

 

She was further preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald and Lawrence Nimm.
