Genevieve Sosnowski

1917 - 2006

 

 

Genevieve A. Sosnowski, 88, of Watertown, died January 11, 2006, at Watertown Memorial Hospital.

 

A funeral Mass will be held Genevieve Sosnowski at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Watertown with the Rev. Bernard Rott officiating.

 

The Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown is in charge of arrangements.

 

The former Genevieve Osuch was born July 6, 1917, in Cicero, IL., daughter of Stanley Osuch. She married Chester Sosnowski on May 7, 1938, in Cicero.

 

She was a member of St. Henry’s and Watertown Senior Center, where she was known as the puzzle lady. She was a member, past president and treasurer of Riverside Commons Tenants Association.

 

Genevieve loved playing cards, bingo and slot machines. She enjoyed reading and putting puzzles together. Genevieve was a big fan of local softball games.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Joanne (Carl) Duckworth of Watertown; a son, Robert (Diane) Sosnowski of Hayward; four grandchildren, Dan (Carol) Duckworth of Eagle River and Angela, Robb and Tomm Sosnowski, all of Chicago, Ill.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was the last member of her immediate family.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Sosnowski on April 29, 1990; her parents; a sister, Mary; and three brothers, Stanley, Walter and Chester.
