Warren A. Smith

1921 - 2008

TOWN OF EMMET

 

Warren A. Smith, 86, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at his home.

 

Warren was born on March 20, 1921, in the town of Wauwatosa, son of Alfred and Ella (Pfeil) Smith. On April 28, 1945, he married the former Florence Wozniak in Milwaukee. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.

 

Warren had farmed since he was 16, his pride and joy was his family and life on the farm.  He enjoyed deer hunting and his dog, Hazel.

 

Survivors include his wife, Florence; his children, Wayne Smith of Watertown, Joan (Pat) Donovan of Beloit, Russell (Vicky) Smith of Watertown, Carol (Dave) Neu of Ashippun and Marvin Smith of Watertown; 12 grandchildren, Kim (Ryan) Degner and Tracy (Brad) Miller, both of Watertown, Tina (Paul) Ostopowicz of Sullivan, Dana Smith of Lake Mills, Matthew Smith of Juneau, Travis and Christopher Smith of Watertown, Kyle and Cory Donovan of Beloit, Scot (Tracy) Neu of Eden, Kelly Neu of Ashippun and Tim Neu of Wausau; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mabel Brugger of Neosho and Mary (Vince) Strum of New Berlin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William and Roy Smith.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Father Brian Wilk officiating.  Entombment will be at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia.

 

Family and friends may call to pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
