Arlyn Schwager

1911 - 2009

 

 

Arlyn M. Schwager, 97, of Watertown, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Marquardt Memorial Manor.

 

She was born on Nov. 16, 1911, in Medford, daughter of Jacob and Martha (Boxrucker) Hartman.  She married Ed Schwager on June 6, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa.  She worked several years in hotel management in Dodgeville.

 

Arlyn and Ed moved to Whitewater in 1944, where she was active in the Whitewater Century Club, Whitewater Country Club, American Legion Auxiliary and served on the public library board for many years.  She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown.

 

She is survived by her brother, Ervin Hartman of Eau Claire; special friend, Vivian Warren of Watertown; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Pederson Funeral Home Watertown with Father Brian Wilk officiating.  Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Whitewater.

 

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

 

Memorials to St. Henry Catholic Church or the charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
