Catherine M. Schleicher
1919- 2012
Catherine M. Schleicher, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at her home.
Catherine Marie Mersberger was born on April 20, 1919, in Sheboygan Falls, the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Trimberger) Mersberger. On Jan. 31, 1942, she married Leo Schleicher at St. George Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. Catherine was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers and Altar Confraternity. She was a former volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul Society in Watertown. Catherine was an avid bridge and card player and she enjoyed music and played the guitar.
Catherine’s survivors include their children, Jerry (Diane) Schleicher of Montello, Robert (Peggy) Schleicher of Massachusetts and Jane (Barry) Baumann of Watertown; grandchildren, Jillian McLaughlin, Karen (Wayne) Campbell, Vicki (Keith) Johnson, Curt (Tammy) Schleicher and Kristine (Tom) Karrels; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann (John) Hermann of Sheboygan; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Schleicher; a great-grandson, Samuel Peschel; her parents; two brothers and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at noon at St. Henry Catholic Church with Monsignor Daniel Ganshert celebrating. Family burial will be in St. Henry Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Rainbow Hospice would be appreciated.

Leo G. Schleicher
1919- 2018
Leo G. Schleicher, loving husband, father and grandparent, age 99, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2018. A lifelong resident of Watertown, he currently resided at Riverview Assisted Living.
Leo was born on Jan. 26, 1919, son of John and Elizabeth (Sanders) Schleicher. He married the love of his life, Catherine M. Mersberger, on Jan. 31, 1942, at St. George Catholic Church in Sheboyan Falls. They were married 70 years until her death in 2012. During his lifetime, Leo owned a John Deere partnership and Leo’s Star Hardware, managed Midland Cooperative and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul. In retirement, Leo enjoyed golf, travel and family. He loved the Brewers and the Packers.
Leo is survived by his children, Jerry “Red” (Dianne) Schleicher of Montello, Bob (Peggy) Schleicher of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, and Jane (Barry) Baumann of Watertown; five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and many other relatives and friends.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Catherine; his brothers, Edwin, Clarence and Joseph; and a grandchild, Brian.
A visitation will be held on Monday at St. Henry Catholic Church from 10 a.m. to noon, with a Mass of Christian burial to follow with the Parochial Vicar Miroslaw Szynal officiating.
The family would like to say “thank you” for all the loving care at Riverview Assisted Living and his last days at Marquardt Village.
