Grace Roethle
1921 – 2009
Grace T. Roethle, 87, of Watertown, passed away on
Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at her home.
Grace was born on Oct. 28, 1921, in Jefferson,
daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Bilsted) Schroedl. On Jan. 15, 1951, she married John
Roethle. She was a member of St. Henry
Catholic Church. She had been employed
at Herro's Tot & Teen for 20 years.
Grace loved her children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing
cards with her card clubs, cooking and baking everyone's favorite dishes.
Survivors include her husband John; their children,
Sandra (Tom) Werner of Watertown, Fred (Jean) Roethle of Watertown, Patricia
(Gary) McFatridge of Bishop, Texas, and Joseph (Linda) Roethle of Green Bay; 13
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother and a sister, Betty (Carl)
Wedl of Jefferson and Eu-gene Schroedl of Cazenovia; nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Roethle; her
parents; two sisters, Mary Jane Mayne and Nancy Wedl;
and a brother, Donald Schroedl.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at
St. Henry Catholic Church with Father Brian Wilk officiating. Burial
will be in St. Henry Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
The Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family.
