Mrs. Michael Riedl (nee Anna Koch)

1858 - 1932

Last week Tuesday Mrs. Michael Riedl of 605 Cole Street died at St. Mary’s hospital following a stroke which she had the previous Saturday.  She was born Anna Koch, the daughter of the late Anton Koch and his wife.  She was 73 years old and born in Watertown.  After her marriage to Mr. Riedl they lived for many years on a farm near town.  When they retired they moved here [see Cole St photo below].  Besides the husband 3 children survive her, Heinrich [Henry], and Bernard [Ben] of Route 3, and Mrs. Fritz Verganz of Anderson, Ind.  Further survivors are 13 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Michael Nistler of the town of Ixonia and Miss Josephine Koch, as well as one brother, Engelbert Koch, here.  The deceased was a member of St. Henry’s church where on Friday the funeral was held with Father F. Schwinn officiating and burial in the church cemetery.
