Ann C. Peirick

1912 - 2008

JEFFERSON

 

Ann C. Peirick, 95, of Jefferson, passed away January 17, at The Glen in Whitewater.

 

She was born on Aug. 11, 1912, in Tripp, S.D., daughter of the late James A. and Anne (Byron) Naughton. She married Lawrence Peirick on Aug. 23, 1941, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1989.

 

Ann was a homemaker her entire life. She loved to bake and cook for her family. She enjoyed gardening and loved to grow flowers. She was an avid reader and bird watcher, and a fan of Western movies. She was very proud of her Irish heritage.

 

Ann was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson and the St. Anne Society. She volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul for many years.

 

She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn (Francis) Purtell of Fort Atkinson; one son, James L. Peirick of Hot Springs, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Dawn (Bill) White, Vicki (Mark) Johnston, Tom (Leanne) Purtell, Angela (Jason) Froemming, Jeff Purtell, Michael (Cynthia) Peirick, Carrie (Chris) Stroup and Steve (Robin) Peirick; and eight great-grandchildren.

 

She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Gerald, Matthew and James, and two sisters, Margaret Froh and Dolores Stearns.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson and at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. A rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to St. John the Baptist Catholic School.
