Catherine Menzia

 

Catherine M. Menzia, 79, of Watertown, died on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Marquardt Memorial Manor following a brief illness.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Milwaukee with the Rev. Father Brian Wilk officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, New Berlin.

 

Visitation is at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and at St. Matthias Church on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.

 

Memorials are suggested to St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown or Marquardt Hospice.

 

The Pederson Funeral Home of Watertown is serving the family.

 

Catherine was born Nov. 3, 1929, in Milwaukee, daughter of Pete and Catherine (Barbian) Berg.  She married Paul Menzia on June 28, 1952, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Milwaukee.

 

Catherine was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown and St. Matthias Catholic Church in Milwaukee.  She was also a member of the Christian Mothers and Catholic Knights.

 

Surviving are four sons, Steven (Rose) Menzia of Watertown, Robert (Linda) Menzia of Oak Creek, David (Jeanette) Menzia of West Allis and Raymond (Darcy) Menzia of West Allis; a daughter, Sandra Menzia of Milwaukee; six grandchildren, Justin (Cassandra), Grace, Kelsie, Kiara, Spencer and Savannah; two stepgrandchildren, Adam and Jack; a brother, LeRoy (Mary Jane) Berg of Milwaukee; two sisters, Laverne Grzesk of Milwaukee and Lucille Berg of Milwaukee; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on May 23, 2003; and two sisters.
