Bernard Luther

1906 - 1951

 

Bernard E. (Stoney) Luther, 44, died March 26, 1951 in Wisconsin General Hospital at Madison.  His home was at 203 Riverlawn Avenue.  He was taken to the Madison hospital after having been ill for about a month.

 

Mr. Luther was born in Watertown Oct. 19, 1906, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Luther and lived in the city all his life. He was married to Victoria Sherman on Feb. 8, 1941, the wedding taking place in St. Henry's.

 

Mr. Luther was employed at the plant of the Otto Biefeld Co. He was a sports enthusiast and played baseball for years with local teams and also served as coach of a Seventh ward baseball club.

 

He was a member of St. Henry's Church and the Holy Name society.

 

The funeral took place from the Boyle Funeral home with services in St. Henry's Church. The Rev. A. J. Herrmann officiated and interment was in St. Henry's Cemetery.
