Gerald Leiteritz

1918 - 2006

 

Gerald E. Leiteritz, 87, of Watertown, formerly of Marshfield, died March 24, 2006, at his home.

 

A memorial service will be held at the Highland House, 1408 Memorial Drive, Watertown. The Rev. Bernard Rott of St. Henry’s Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be at Marshfield Catholic Cemetery in Marshfield.

 

Hafemeister Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

He was born July 14, 1918, in Marshfield, son of Edward and Ruby (Franklin) Leiteritz. He married Loretta Grassi on Jan. 25, 1947, in Milwaukee.  Gerald had served in the U.S. Army Air Corp in the South Pacific during World War II. He had been employed as a meat cutter in the food industry. He loved to dance, golf, fish and hunt.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Eugene) Mayernick of Wales and Carol (Michael) Welch of DeForest; one son, Gregory (Mary Ann) Leiteritz of Little Chute; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, James (Annette) Jahnke of Tomahawk and William (Elizabeth) Jahnke of Marshfield; other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Loretta Leiteritz; a grand daughter, Erin Welch, a sister, Jeanette Brown, a brother, Richard Jahnke and his stepfather, Fred Jahnke.
