Viola M. Koser, 100, of Watertown, passed away on Friday morning, Feb. 18, 2011, at Marquardt Memorial Manor.
The former Viola Martha Sellnow was born on June 4, 1910, in the town of Shields, the daughter of William Sr. and Anna (Buckert) Sellnow. On June 20, 1936 she married Herbert Koser at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown.
Viola was a member St. Henry Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and baking. She and her husband liked to polka dance and go fishing together. Viola loved spending time with her family.
Viola is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Kohls of Watertown and her son, Alfred Koser of Jefferson; six grandchildren, Deborah (Kelly Peters) Jones, Linda (Glenn Strike) Howard, Michael (Nadine) Koser, Lisa (Dan) Alpin, Joseph (Marlys) Kohls and Cory (Heather) Kohls; seven great-grandchildren, Holly (Corey) Danto, Tiana Jones, Brian Jones, Michael Koser, Emily (Kasey) Weiss, Erica Kohls and Christopher Kohls; three great-great grandchildren, Lydia Danto, Gwyneth Jones and Trenton Koser; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Sellnow of Watertown and Marion Koser of Menomonee Falls; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herbert on Jan. 15, 1997; a son-in-law, Aaron Kohls; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Koser.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Brian Wilk officiating. Burial will be at St. Henry Catholic Cemetery in Watertown.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to St. Henry Catholic Church, Marquardt Memorial Manor or the charity of one's choice. The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is in charge of arrangements.
