Joseph E. Klecker

(1931 - 2008)

 

Joseph E. Klecker, 77, of Watertown, passed away on Tuesday June 24, 2008, at Watertown Memorial Hospital.

 

Joe was born on May 28, 1931, in Watertown, the son of Hugo and Anna (Brasky) Klecker. On April 20, 1968, he married the former Teresa Brand at St. Bruno's Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, Ill.

 

Joe had farmed in the town of Clyman, was a John Deere mechanic in the Dodge and Jefferson County area and a truck driver for Allard Express.  He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, it's usher society and the Knights of Columbus.

 

Joe was a dedicated husband and loving father, and he is survived by his wife, Teresa; his children, Karen (Jeff) Wagner of Clyman, Joseph (Deborah) Klecker of Clyman, Stephen Klecker of Watertown, Mary (Kurt) Jablonski of Clyman and Edward (Rhonda) Klecker of Clyman; grandchildren, John, Sarah and Mark Wagner, Loretta and Vincent Klecker, Alec Ewing, Ally and Memphis Klecker, James Browning and Cody Jablonski; other relatives and friends.

 

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church with Father Brian Wilk officiating.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

 

Family and friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service and on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Henry's Catholic Church would be appreciated.
