Genevieve C. Hoeft
1926 - 2014
Genevieve C. Hoeft, age 87, of
Watertown, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at Zinzendorf Hall in Watertown.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Henry
Catholic Church in Watertown, with Fr. Jorge Miramontes
and Fr. Robert W. Hughs presiding. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the Hafemeister
Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10
a.m. until the time of the Mass. Memorials, in Genevieve’s name, may be given
to the church or to the charity of one’s choice.
Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the
family.
Genevieve Charlotte Byrne was born in Neshkoro on June 14,
1926, daughter of George and Mary (Loshinski) Byrne.
On May 21, 1942, she married Alvin Edward Hoeft at
St. James Catholic Church in Neshkoro. Alvin preceded her in death on May 22,
1989.
She had been employed at Eppler’s
Apples, Hartwig’s and retired in 1989 from Johnson Controls.
Genevieve was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and
enjoyed gardening, playing cards and bingo.
Survivors include her children, Donna (John) Tennie, Richard
(Karen) Hoeft, Carole Zimdars,
Marjorie Dobratz, Katherine (Larry) Tetzlaff, David (Bev) Hoeft,
Dennis (Karin) Hoeft, Barbara (Mike) Fenz, Jeff (Doris) Hoeft; 19
grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren, 25
great-grandchildren, 10 stepgreat-grandchildren;
three great-great grandchildren; a brother, George (Carol) Byrne; two sisters,
Georgia Krueger and Betty Medenhall; a sister-in-law,
Duaine Hoeft, along with
numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Genevieve was also preceded in death by her parents; a
sister, Gladys Rojeck; brothers, Robert, Harold, Dale
“Tommy” and Eugene; four grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a stepgreat-grandchild and two sons-in-law.
