John Heiling

1872 - 1942

 

John Heiling, 71, residing at 110 Emerald Street, died Sunday morning at his home following a heart attack. He died within a short time after suffering the attack.

 

Heiling, who was born in Clyman and lived there most of his life, had been one of the most widely known farmers in that section.  He moved to Watertown seven years ago when he retired from the farm.

 

He was born Jan. 11, 1871, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heiling. He was married at Juneau 38 years ago to Miss Lenora Weber.

 

She survives, as do five children, Miss Dorothy Heiling and Mrs. Robert Wicker, this city; Mrs. Orla Rettschlag, Clyman; Oscar Heiling, Horicon, and Frank Heiling, Clyman. There is one sister, Mrs. Fred Freber, Beaver Dam.  There are eight grandchildren

 

Mr. Heiling was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church and of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin, belonging to Branch No. 187, Clyman. He was also a member of the Holy Name society of St. Henry's Church.

 

The funeral will be held Wednesday from the Boyle Funeral Home with services at 9 a.m. in St. Henry's. The Rev. Dean F. X. Schwinn will officiate and burial will be in St. Isadore’s Cemetery in Clyman.
