Joseph B. Haberkorn

1915 - 2004

 

 

Joseph B. Haberkorn, age 88, of Watertown, died January 23, 2004, at Watertown Memorial Hospital.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on, January 28, 2004, at St. Henry’s with Father Bernard Rott officiating. Burial was in St. Henry’s Cemetery.

 

He was born on Sept. 6, 1915, in Watertown, the son of Joseph L. and Amelia (nee Meitner) Haberkorn.  He was married to Clara Emma Munzel on June 7, 1941, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, Watertown.  He was employed at Watertown Canning Co. and at the former A. Kramp Co. as head farm mechanic.

 

Joe was a lifetime member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown, and attended St. Henry Grade School.  He was past president of the former Holy Name Society, a retired member of St. Henry Usher Society, past president of St. Henry Parish Council, a Catholic Knight member, and was the first lay Eucharist minister at St. Henry Church.

 

Joe loved gardening and sharing his bounty with others. He loved sharing his joy of the Christmas season with his outside lighting displays.

15 grandchildren, Lori (Mark) Baryenbruch of Spring Green, Lisa Haberkorn of Laredo, Texas, Becky (Tim) Williams of Fond du Lac, Craig (Tammy) Haberkorn of Cottage Grove, Curt (Liz) Haberkorn of Waterloo, Michelle (Jason) Bostwick of Waterloo, Michael (Michelle) Haberkorn of Beaver Dam, Paul (Amy) Haberkorn of Sun Prairie, Steve Haberkorn of Watertown, Beth (Clayton) Kratzer of Watertown, Julie Haberkorn of Watertown, Mark Haberkorn of Watertown, Ben Haberkorn of Watertown, Rachel Haberkorn of Watertown, and Jessica Haberkorn of Watertown; 16 great-grandchildren; his faithful companion, J.J.; and is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
