Viola Grunewald
1924 - 2005
Viola A. Grunewald, 80,
of Watertown, died
Funeral services were
held at St. Henry’s Church with the Rev. Bernard Rott
officiating. Burial was in the
parish cemetery.
The Schmutzler-Vick
Funeral Home and Cremation Service served the family. In lieu of flowers,
memorials to the Watertown Christmas Parade were suggested.
The former Viola A.
Weber was born on
Viola had been a cook
at the former Otto's Inn and had also been employed at Del's
Liquor and Johnson Controls. She had volunteered as a foster grandparent at
Bethesda Lutheran Home.
Viola was a member of
St. Henry’s, Watertown Senior and Community Center and AARP.
Viola was active in the
foster grandparent program at Bethesda for many years. She gave her heart and
soul to her loving family and grandchildren. Viola was well known for her open
heart and always opened her home for any child in need. She had a lot of
friends and loved going to special functions with them. Her hobbies included
woodworking, reupholstering, cake decorating, touring new places, attending
parades/festival with the kids and grandchildren, singing German polka songs,
cooking and finding new recipes. She touched our hearts and we will always
remember and have a special place in our hearts for her.
