Mary Donahue

1893 - 1961

 

Mrs. Edwin Donahue, 68, 310 North Third Street, died October 25, 1961 at her home. Death was due to a sudden heart attack. Her husband, who had been in the country, found her dead when he returned home. In the afternoon, Mrs. Donahue had been downtown to shop.

 

She was born in the town of Clyman, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Callahan on August 6, 1893 and was married in Watertown at St. Henry’s to Mr. Donahue on June 23, 1931.

 

Surviving are her husband; a son, John Donahue, Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Walter Springer, Waterloo, Wis.; two brothers, Francis Callahan, Whitewater, and John Callahan, Phoenix, Ariz.

 

Two sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Donahue was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church.

 

She was a woman of deep religious faith and was a devout Catholic. Friends knew her as a woman who possessed many admirable qualities. She was formerly a teacher in Dodge County schools and had friends throughout the community.

 

The funeral was from the Boyle Funeral Home with services at St. Bernard's Church, the Rev. Vincent Thilman, C.S.C., officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
