Roger W. Dobke

1938 - 2006

 

KEWASKUM

 

Roger W. Dobke, age 67, of Kewaskum, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2006, at SynergyHealth St. Joseph's Hospital in the town of Polk.

 

He was born on Nov. 15, 1938, in Fond du Lac County at his grandpa and grandma Hirsig's home, the son of the late Edward and Verna (Hirsig) Dobke. On July 15, 1972, he was united in marriage to Suzanne Stangler at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Watertown.

 

Roger served his country in the U.S. Army in the '60s and before entering into the Army was a soil tester and assessor for the town of Kewaskum. During his working years, Roger was employed by Mallard Coach, Parker Hanifin, Old lronsides Batteries, Praefke Brake and Fabex Brake, and he was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.

 

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Suzanne; two sons, Brian (Carol) Dobke of Fond du Lac and Kevin (Susanne) Dobke  of Milwaukee; two stepsisters, LaVern Geidel and Betty (Loran) Backhaus Jr., both of Kewaskum; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his stepmother, Maria Dobke and a stepbrother-in- law, John Geidel.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum, following a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. Father Edwin Kornath will officiate and burial in the parish cemetery with military graveside rites will follow the Mass.
