Wilhelmina Butzler

1847 - 1909

On Monday evening, March 29, 1909, Mrs. Gerhard Butzler, wife of Police Officer Butzler, died at her home in First Street.

 

Mrs. Butzler had been in poor health for about four months, but had been confined to her bed only about ten days.  Her maiden name was Wilhelmina Lange.

 

June 13, 1847, she was born in Lechaina, Germany, and when 10 years of age she located in this city.  Afterwards she removed to Burlington, Wis., where she was married to Henry Liefeld, who died in 1875, and in 1880 she was married to Gerhard Butzler who survives her and nine children, the latter being Joseph Leifeld, Henry Butzler, Milwaukee; Anton Leifeld, Houston, Texas; Dora Leifeld, Helen Butzler, Fond du Lac; Mrs. Frank Rupnow, Frank, John and George Butzler Watertown. 

 

Thursday morning her funeral took place from St. Henry's Catholic Church, and her remains were interred in St. Henry's cemetery.

 

Mrs. Butzler was a most excellent lady and was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends, who learned of her death with sincere sorrow.
