Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Henry’s with the Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial was in St. Henry’s Cemetery.
The
former Mary Lutovsky was born
Mary
attended St. Henry’s Catholic School, Watertown High School and Mount Mary
College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work. She
received a master's degree in social work at the Catholic University of
America. She had been employed as a social worker and probation officer.
Mary
was a member of St. Henry’s, past president of St. Henry’s Catholic Women's
Club and Christian Mother's Society, and St. Henry’s Home and School
Association. She had been a religious education teacher, a St. Henry’s Cub
Scout den mother, member of AARP and participated in the Meals on Wheels
program.
Mary
will always be remembered as a devoted, loving and wonderful wife, mother and
friend. She was affectionately called "Ma" by her children's friends
that frequented her house. There was always room at dinner for one more. Her
favorite things to do were spending time with her children, grandchildren,
traveling, gardening and knitting mittens for St. Vincent de Paul. Her vast
knowledge on the history of Watertown and her helpful gardening tips will be
missed by many.
