Christ will appear a second
time not to take away sin
but to bring salvation to
all those who eagerly await him.
Hebrews 9:28
Dear Moms and Dads,
Great news.
Mrs. Lemminger, our fifth grade homeroom teacher in the Middle School,
applied for a $300 grant from the Educational Foundation of Watertown to
purchase more Accelerated Reader tests and they said, “Yes!” A nice gift from generous people. Speaking of generous people, Mrs. Gloria
Higgins, a volunteer here for many, many years just covered the cost of a new
sink and counter in the kindergarten room.
They are beautiful! Thank you and
God bless you, Mrs. Higgins.
The Kindergarten and Grades 1 – 8 children
will have report cards for you today.
The 1-8 ones came off the computer via the new Student Information
System. They aren’t as attractive as our
“old-fashioned” ones, but they do contain the information you are looking
for. You may keep the sheet but please
sign the parent signature sheet that accompanies them and return that sheet in
the report card envelope. Another
important sheet for you to return Monday will be one asking for days and times
you will be available for the Parent-Teacher Conferences this month. Please return them ASAP so we can set the
appointments.
The Student Council Food Drive on behalf of
Watertown’s St. Vincent DePaul Society enters into its second and final
week. Of course, any non-perishable food
items or commonly needed paper goods will certainly be welcomed.
Lots of sickness bugs around. We are averaging between 6 and 12 children
out each day these last few weeks. Some
have had a fever, and parents report their doctors are assuming it’s the H1N1
and treating it as such without actually testing for it. St. Bernard School sent a note home today
confirming two cases of it. So thank you
for being cautious and keeping children who are feeling under the weather home. Keep washing those hands often with soap and
hot water! Good luck.
