“For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice
but rather of
power and love and self-control.
from St.
Paul's Second Letter to Timothy 1: 7
October 1, 2010
The PJ’s order form with payment is due to
the office this Wednesday. This will
probably be the last time for three or four months you will be able to order,
so you might want to take advantage of this offer. As you probably remember, this is a Home and
School Association fund-raiser but the prices are so reasonable it doesn’t seem
like one!
You probably noticed in the calendar that
we are having our annual St. Francis Day “Blessing of Pets” this coming
Monday. It’s a “tradition!” And a nice one. It’s truly more for the animal owners than
the animals in that we thank God for the gifts our pets are for us and ask His
grace/help that we be good caretakers of them.
Obviously only pets that are easily controlled (and not totally
terrified in strange surroundings) should be brought. See details about time and place in the
calendar below.
Monday night there will be the first in a
series of three of a diocese-sponsored seminar focused on offering practical
advice to those who want to help our Catholic schools thrive. Anyone who thinks they might want to be part
of a marketing committee for our school is welcome ~ indeed, urged! ~ to attend.
Please call school if you think you will be able to make it, so we can
call the Diocese early on Monday to let them know they may need to bring extra
supplies. By the way, I had the site incorrectly listed in the calendar last
week. It’s in the Rectory Hall, not the
PC.
On the back you will see an interesting
letter from our Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Madison, Mr.
Michael Lancaster. It’s concerning the
upcoming “Bodies . . . the Exhibition” to be opened soon in Madison. Although he wrote it to all the principals, I
thought some of you might find it very interesting. If you would like to see
the reflection paper he mentions, email me and I will forward you to it.
Three cheers to God for this heavenly
weather. Awesome work, Lord.
