“Pursue righteousness,
devotion, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.
Compete
well for the faith!” from
St. Paul's First Letter to Timothy 6: 11
September 23, 2010
We had four firefighters here last Monday
observing our second fire drill of the year.
“One of the best ones I have ever seen,” declared one of the them. We were proud.
With this newsletter you will find an order
blank for PJ's. For the new families
among us, this is a “favorite” fund-raiser among many of our oldtimers. People
basically order coupons which are redeemable with a phone call or stop in at
PJ's on North Church Street, just up the street from the Speedway gas station
across from St. Bernard Church. Many
feel that the price is extremely reasonable, even cheap for what is
purchased. At last week's Home and
School Association board meeting the decision was made to probably run this
fund-raiser three times a year because people start asking for another when
they begin to get low on coupons! The
time it runs is short and sweet: between
now and Wednesday, October 6th. (Note
that the order blank is returned with payment.)
Purchased coupons will then be in the family envelopes the next week
Friday (Thursday for 4K).
PICTURE DAY is this coming Wednesday,
September 29th . Order information and
order blanks were sent home last week.
The following is from Mrs. Patty O'Connor,
our Home and School Association chairperson for HASA's annual “Make a
Difference” Blood Drive here at St. Henry.
This year it will be Saturday, October 23, in our Parish Center between
8 am and 1 pm. “Did you know that every
time you donate blood, your donation may save 3 lives? Each pint is spun down into three units of
blood product: red cells, plasma and platelets.
You can donate again every 8 weeks, and that means every year YOU have
the potential to save 18 lives!! ALL BY
YOURSELF!! (Well, the Blood Center
helps...) So...WHAT ARE YOU WAITING
FOR?! Besides, we have free food! Sign up today to give the gift of life...only
takes an hour...and what's an hour among FRIENDS? You can sign up online and it is easy! Go to www.bcw.edu . Our drive "code" is
DRV0104978. You can also sign up at the
school office or by calling 920-262-6329 when school is not in session.”
