“Behold, I am with you always.”
Matthew 28:
20
I am sure most of you are aware that we are saying
good-bye to some very lovely people over the next few days. Mrs. Oestreicher,
our music and band teacher, is leaving us to have and stay home with a new baby
who is planning to make its appearance in September. Congratulations, Mrs. O! Her replacement, Mr. Richard Smith, is
coming to us (and St. Bernard’s) with much experience and enthusiasm. Middle school teacher, Mrs. Boyd, was
offered a “perfect” job for her skills and past experience in prison work –
work always dear to her heart. We
understood how she couldn’t say “no.” Her replacement is a young woman with
five years’ experience under her belt and glowing recommendations, Ms. Katie
Parsons. We also, sadly, are saying good-bye to Mrs. Burdick who brought so
many talents to our 4K program these past few years. Lastly, of course, you’ve heard by now that
Fr. Brian Wilk, our pastor, has been asked to go to St. Joseph Parish in Fort
Atkinson. Msgr. Ganshert
of St. Bernard’s will be pastor of both our parishes, and we are getting a
newly ordained young priest, Fr. Jorge Miramontes. With all our hearts, we thank the people
leaving us for their many gifts given on our behalf and wish them
Godspeed. I know all of you will extend
warm welcomes to our newcomers.
MEDICATIONS brought to school this year are coming
home on Monday unless your child is on a daily regimen for something. Since children won’t have backpacks and the
like at the park Tuesday afternoon, this seemed the smartest course. Here’s hoping we won’t have to call you
Tuesday to bring a Tylenol or cough drop!
If your child does take a daily prescription med, the homeroom teachers
will be given them to take to Lincoln Park, so please be sure to ask for them
when you pick up your youngsters at 2:55.
Of course, if weather is an issue the youngsters will stay here for the
afternoon. Here’s hoping! A fun afternoon is planned with St. Bernard
children for our last day of 2010-2011.
The joint St. Henry/St. Bernard GIFT Committee invites
you all to participate in the Corpus Christi (Body of Christ) Mass and
procession on Sunday June 26. For this
7th annual event the con-celebrated Mass will begin at 10:15 a.m. at St.
Henry’s; participants will then be encouraged to process to St. Bernard’s where
there will be Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction. Afterwards a light luncheon will be served in
St. Bernard’s gym.
We want to acknowledge our wonderful graduating
class. The High School will be most
impressed with these delightful young people.
We hate to have them leave us, but are very proud of them. God’s best blessings in overflowing abundance
to Noah Cole, Isaac Elsen, Janelle Hamilton, Brian
Hogan, Allison Jonas, Cole Keller, Jeffrey Schultz, Jacob Turner, Leah Uecker, Katelyn Vandersommen,
Sarah Wagner, and Caleb Walter.
All of us here at school wish you a safe, relaxing,
wonderful summer. Thank you so much for
all your support throughout the school year.
Please set aside Saturday afternoon, August 27, for the very important
Back-to-School meetings. We hope you
also stay for the 4:00 Mass and the light Home & School supper in the Parish
Center after. GOD BLESS!
