Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the
face of the earth.
Psalm 104:30
May 21, 2010
This Sunday is the great feast day of
Pentecost. May the Spirit descend upon
you with His many gifts from the Lord Jesus!
We were so pleased to see some of our St.
Henry School graduates earning scholarships last Sunday afternoon. Among them were seniors Thomas Peirick with a
$21,000 Lemke award; Josh Caine, a $6000
Darcy award, and Angela Rothschadl, a $500 Jaedecke Nursing award. We heard that another graduate, freshman John
Tesensky, auditioned to play in the HS’s prestigious wind ensemble and made
it. He even has to replace a graduating
senior in the group at this June’s graduation ceremony. And his St. Henry
classmate, John Wagner, placed third in a Future Business Leaders competition
at a regionals competition and missed going on to nationals by coming in fourth
at state instead of third. I’m sure I’m
missing other fine stories – but not on purpose! Proud moms and dads, please email or call in
good news about your high school students. I’ll be pleased to share it with
everyone here!
You will again notice a dance classes’
invitation flyer in your envelopes (and weekend bulletins). The participants last Saturday had such a
good time they urged Mrs. Reno to continue with a four week session. You are welcome to join us. Proceeds will go to the parish/school. Babysitting will not be offered, however,
since no one took us up on the offer last weekend, and our eighth graders will
be graduated and moving onto high school for the majority of the dance classes! The classes are going to be on the four
Sundays of June, from 6-7. Promise ~ you
will truly have a lot of fun.
Just a reminder that the tuition aid
applications must be in the office on or before next Friday. It is imperative that it is filled out
completely and all requested forms are supplied. If you are uncertain, it might be better to
hand it in a little early and then we would have time to explain what was still
needed. Thanks! Enjoy your weekend. God bless!
