“This is what the Lord asks of us, only this:

to act justly, to love tenderly, and to walk humbly with your God.”

                  Micah 6:8

Congratulations to all our fifth graders for a successful conclusion to their DARE class this semester.  On this coming Wednesday the 25th, our second graders will do the honors of “crowning” Our Blessed Mother the Queen of Heaven – in their First Communion clothes.  Weather permitting, we will gather around the little grotto on the north end of the courtyard right after the 8:15 Mass.  Everyone is welcome to join us.  If weather a problem, we’ll do it in church.

We sent home a sheet last Friday about a joint St. Bernard/St. Henry Robotics team which will meet and work on a project this summer and coming fall.  This should appeal to the youngsters with a bit of an engineering bent:  the ones who love to tinker, take things apart to see how they work, create their own playthings, enjoy putting together models.  If you think this might be up your age 9-14 child’s alley, please contact Mrs. Byrne within a day or two about coming to an informational meeting Wednesday, May 25th at 6 pm, St. Bernard School gym.  Her phone number is 920-988-3655 and her email byrne95@sbcglobal.net.

I would like to remind both families that have been around for a number of years and those relatively new to our school that the people who put together the program “Protecting God’s Children” have a wonderful website that keeps parents up-to-date on information that truly gives them better knowledge and skills to keep their children safe.  Just use the web and go to Virtus.org.  (Be sure it’s dot org, NOT dot com.) The opening page always contains an informative article that changes once or twice a month.  Speaking of which, if you haven’t taken that course yet, why don’t you get that done this June?  Check the calendar below.  Mr. Weissenborn does need to know if you plan on attending any of those so he has enough materials.  You can leave him a message at 261-7273.  With the literally hundreds of people who have taken it here at St. Henry, we have never had anyone tell us it was a waste of time.  Some have confessed they weren’t originally thrilled to give up the two hours or so to come, but once experienced, they thought the information was truly useful.

Thank you to the many of you who returned all that paperwork sent home last week.  If you haven’t yet, we sure would be grateful if you could get that done over the weekend and turned in next Monday.  See you in church this weekend.
