Are we having fun yet?  Thank you, everyone, for your patience and care with our street issues.

GREAT opportunity coming tomorrow for having a spanking clean car for Mother’s Day.  Tomorrow at the Badger Car Wash on West Main just beyond Maranatha College and before the railroad overpass the eighth graders would be delighted to wash your car.  Yes, they’ll use Badger’s high-powered hoses, and you get to stay inside and enjoy the music on the radio.  Whatever you donate as thanks for their efforts will be appreciated and put into their upcoming class trip fund.  Lunch will be available there too. Also please see the flyer in the envelope about another fund-raiser of theirs happening the next Saturday. It’s something very new – a DANCE class for grown-ups for just $10.00 a person with free babysitting offered.  All the proceeds will go to that same class trip fund.  Sounds like a great opportunity and lots of fun. Because of class limitations and babysitters, they do need RSVP”S on that by Tuesday.  The RSVP form is on the bottom of the flyer.

The HASA Used Book Fair last Friday was very successful.  Over 600 books were donated by 60 some children. Many a student first received one free, then got another free for every two donated, and then were able to buy any others at a quarter a piece.  Talk about bargains.  About 400 were re-cycled back to our own students, and the others given to St. Vincent DePaul.  Many thanks to Chair Patrice Walter and her able helpers, Sherry Strupp and Katie Schroeder, and the many donors.

The American College Planners are coming back for the third year in a row.  Totally free, totally gimmick-less, no “hoping-to-snag-you-for-some money-making scheme-in-the-future,” and VERY helpful to parents as they approach the huge mountain of how do we help our child find a college we can afford.  They maintain that parents with children as young as sixth grade can benefit from the advice.  Feel free to invite non-parishioners to come along.  This is all happening Monday, May 17 at 6:30 pm in our Parish Center.  The sixth through eighth grade parents will find a flyer in their envelopes this week.  If anyone else would like further information, just give us a call.
