Go, therefore,
and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father, and of
the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all
that I have commanded you.”
Matt 28:19
With this newsletter you will find an important sheet that we would ask you to return next week. It has financial information about next year on both sides AND you have to make some decisions concerning how you want to handle tuition payments next year. It’s not as daunting to go through as it looks, but please set apart a little quiet time to go through it. You’ll want to be able to concentrate.
Just a few things to point out to those who use the SMART tuition payment method. There have been a few changes. One is that the coupon book option will no longer be available. However, there are now three different ways to take care of your twelve monthly payments:
1) through an automatic monthly deduction from your bank account
2) through a monthly bill that is mailed to you
3) through use of a monthly charge on your credit or debit card. Be aware, though, that there is an additional 2.5 % charge every month on the amount, and they do not accept Visa cards.
All of this is explained on that other sheet. Please make your choices on that sheet and return it. Thank you!
If you are filling out a SMART enrollment form for the first time, I would suggest putting the names of BOTH parents on it if you are in the same household. If you don’t and the non-named parent tries to contact them to ask a question about your account, the SMART employee is legally bound to not give you any information. Can be pretty frustrating. By the way, if your present account is set up with only one parent’s name, that parent can call them and give permission for a SMART representative to talk to the other parent. I’d suggest you take the time to do that. These operations are done on the east coast during business hours so you do have to contact them during those times.
Lastly, please be sure to get those payments in on time because you will be charged if they have to contact you about a late payment. And if that late payment isn’t paid on time – along with the tuition – you get another one piled on. So be sure to pick one of the three dates that works best for your budget. If your present choice, “old-timers,” is no longer the best for you – that can be changed for 08-09. Just let us know on the accompanying sheet that you would like to change something, and we will get the proper form to you to do that.
We’re extra proud of some of our fifth graders. They took part in an ELKS American Essay Contest. Three of our students’ essays were chosen to compete at the state level. Congratulations to Leah Uecker, Katelyn Vandersommen, and Caleb Walter. They are invited to a special Youth Activities Banquet on Tuesday, May 27th and will receive some award there. Good for them.
After eight (!) phone calls this morning, the decision has been made: the CAR WASH for tomorrow is ON!
Believe it or not, the long range weather report for next Saturday is also rain; the weekend after that is the Dells Families Weekend, and the weekend after that is Memorial Weekend. Enough. We’re going for it. So even if it isn’t a great car wash day, could you find it in your hearts to make it out to the Badger Car Wash next to Kwik Trip on West Main tomorrow between 11 and 2 for a “free car wash?” If you can be generous with your “donation” and even buy some lunch or baked goods, the eighth graders (and their wonderful parents) will be truly grateful. And we will have some beautiful League banners up in our Parish Center for next season.
HAPPY SPRING!
Sixth grade students are keeping themselves busy with a variety of activities this spring. Last Friday we visited some of the residents at Zinzendorf Hall. In the days leading up to the field trip, the class came up with questions to ask. With a partner, each student selected topics he or she found interesting and then used the questions they developed to start conversations with the residents. When students finished their “interviews” they played a variety of games with their new friends. Sixth graders shared some of their favorite games like “Apples to Apples,” “Sorry,” and “Uno.” Some also had the chance to learn games they hadn’t played before, such as “Shut-Box,” Kings’ Corners,” and “Rummy.” When we left, the residents told me how much they enjoyed the company of our students!
This week, on Thursday, we traveled to Milwaukee to the Milwaukee Public Museum. We had the opportunity to see a wide variety of exhibits that helped the students to have a greater insight into the history of southeastern Wisconsin and about a variety of environments around the world. For many students, the highlight of the day was the IMAX movie Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk, which focused on some of the serious environmental issues facing us today. (It also gave us the opportunity to see what a beautiful, amazing world God has given us!)
God Bless!

PRESCHOOL AND
GOD’S BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS
The preschoolers are learning about seeds and planting, buds and blooms, and all the basics of growing God’s beautiful flowers. Be sure to ask them about the digging area in our classroom and watch out for dirt under their little fingernails!
In addition to our science theme, our last two letters are X and Q. Wow! Show and share will be a little difficult this week but it should be fun! To keep the identification of letters and sounds fresh this summer please continue reading to your child. Puzzles or an alphabet game would also be a fun way to continue learning or not forgetting! Learning is to the soul what light is to the lens.
We will be walking to the library for a story and to Mullins for an ice cream cone for our spring field trip this year. I will allow the children to check out one book on my card to have at school the last couple of weeks. Please join us if you can. There is nothing like a story and ice cream…two of my favorites!
Well, this is my last newsletter of the year. Thank you for allowing myself and St. Henry to teach your child. It truly is an honor. It will be fun to see them grow through the years at St. Henry School. Continue having a wonderful, WARM, productive spring and have a safe and fun summer.
