Congratulations to all our First Communicants.  Talk about a gift that keeps on giving!  We pray that this first step of their journey with the Bread of Life that begins Sunday will last through their entire lives and culminate with Him in glory for a wondrous eternity.

“The ability to adjust is a sign of maturity.”  Looks like many of us will have the opportunity to grow in maturity next week.  We are being told that there will be work on the water lines next week on Cady Street along our playground line.  It’s possible the Cady Street exit driveway will be blocked at times. All we can all do is be VERY careful and VERY considerate and VERY patient.  I know we can count on all of you to keep our children safe.  Thanks so much.  (This too shall pass.)

An apology to Sarah Wagner in grade 7.  Her name was inadvertently left off the honor roll for third quarter. And it should have been there!  We are sorry, Sarah.  Congratulations too.

The Finance Committee’s budget for next school year was approved by the Parish Council last week.  Part of it included the tuition costs for 2010-11.  For those who have one child in K-8 there is an increase of $50 for the year (or less than a dollar a week); for those with two a total increase of $95 for the year (or less than $1.75 a week); and $125 total increase for the year for those with three (or $2.40 a week).  The actual tuition next year for the first child will be $1700; for the second $1150; for the third $950.  If someone would happen to have more than three in school, each of them over three would be $650 a year.  There is no additional book bill (often amounting to over $100 in some schools) or registration fee.  And, as most of you know, you may choose to pay the entire amount for next year by July 31 of this summer or spread it over twelve payments from this July through next June.  We’ll send paperwork regarding all this next week.  Thanks to the generosity of our parish members and the sacrifices of our staff, these costs are pretty reasonable. Nonetheless, for many of you they are a real gift of love on behalf of your children.  May God bless you for giving up other things so you can afford to have your children in this environment in which they are helped and encouraged “to soar with the Lord!”
