“For I acknowledge my offense and my sin is before me always.”

                             Psalm 51:  vs. 5

Incredibly, the Penny War netted – hold on to your hats -- $1,815.84!  Isn’t that terrific!  How generous so many of you were – students, moms and dads, grandparents too I would bet.  Josh O’Brien (and especially his parents) will be so touched.  If plans proceed on target, he SHOULD be receiving his therapy dog this fall.  Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping make this possible.

Our spring break starts with a FUN night TONIGHT. . . .Sounds like HASA folks have a fun evening planned for the families of the 4k through grade 5 children.  Thanks to the organizers and all those who donated prizes or a donation to help with expenses.  Have a GOOD time.

Third and Fourth Grade Parents, your children are going to be asked to give special service and be part of some of the goings on connected with Palm Sunday for the 4:00 pm Saturday Mass on Saturday, April 16th.  We are hoping for almost 100% participation.  A note will go home on the Friday (the 8th) the children return from spring break.  Unless you are out of town that weekend or have some special event on the calendar you just can’t miss, please say “yes.”

Did you notice the picture in the Watertown Daily Times Wednesday of Mr. Novenski speaking with our eighth grade science class about the nuclear reactor problem in Japan?  He traveled extensively as an engineer with Lindbergh’s and actually oversaw a furnace installation in a nuclear power plant just 25 miles from the Fukushima one so much in the news today.  So knowledgeable, his quick diagram of a nuclear plant and clear explanation of how they work and what probably went wrong actually made sense!   Speaking of that crisis, those of you who had children in school a few years ago remember our wonderful Japanese teacher, Mrs. Misako Nimiya, who was with us for seven months.  We did receive a quick email from her that she and her adult children were OK but her husband was in the Fukushima area and they were very worried about him.  Haven’t heard since.  ANOTHER important thing to pray for!

The faculty was proud to notice recently that four of our St. Henry School graduates were recently inducted into the National Honor Society.  Our congratulations go out to Devin and Juliena Herritz, John Tesensky, and John Wagner.  Three cheers for them.

The Holy Land St. Henry and St. Bernard pilgrims – our two pastors and parishioners from both churches – left from our playground Monday on a bus taking them to Chicago.  We did get word from them Wednesday afternoon that they were safe and sound and would not be going into the area where the tragic bombing took place in Jerusalem.  Certainly, a few prayers for their safe return after an inspiring trip would be in order.
