A Note from Mr. Bob Bruenig, Basketball
Coordinator:
Now that the
basketball season is over I would like to extend a big thank you to everyone included
in making this season a big success.
Without your volunteering as coaches, concession workers, hall monitors,
etc., our season would not have been a big success. Congratulations, too, to our sixth grade
girls B team for winning the league title and the conference championship. Also congratulations to our fifth/sixth grade
boys team for winning third place in the league tournament. Something to mark
on your calendars. Registration for
volleyball and basketball for the 2010-2011 season will take place in May. More details to follow.
An Extra Word from Mrs. Butzine:
Mr. Breunig and
other members of the Athletic Board deserve our sincere gratitude for all they
do to make this program possible. It’s
considerable! Please also note the call
for board volunteers which is on the other side of the Home and School
Association minutes. If you are
interested, please try to make the meeting on Wednesday, March 3rd. By the way, this board’s meeting time is
pretty versatile. My experience has been
that if a meeting night doesn’t work for a member, they will search for a day
and time that works for everybody, if at all possible. So if Wednesdays at 6:30 won’t ever work for
you but you would like to contribute, please call me at school and I will relay
that message at the meeting!
An Invitation from Mrs. Oestreicher, our
Music and Band Teacher:
On Sunday,
February 21, at 3:00 pm at Watertown High School the Watertown Area Chamber
Orchestra will be performing their annual concert. Mrs. O will be playing and is offering extra
credit in music or band for any student who attends and turns in a
parent-signed program. The concert
features some traditional orchestra pieces by Tchaikovsky and Borodin as well
as some more contemporary songs like highlights of the Beatles. This concert is free of charge and open to
the public.
