What eye has not seen, and
ear has not heard, and what has not entered the human heart,
God has prepared for those who love
him.”
I Corinthians
2: 9
We had such a nice Catholic Schools Week
last week, despite the snow – maybe the youngsters would include the snow as
part of what made it special! Teachers
decided to go ahead this week with their “exchange” originally planned for last
Wednesday’s snow day. Ask your children
what their “new” teacher did with them on Wednesday morning. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves
immensely when I did a “walkabout.”
Accompanying this will be a letter from me
explaining some mandatory NEW procedures regarding any medications given out in
any schools in Wisconsin. It does change
a few things from what we have previously done.
Please read through it carefully.
Don’t hesitate to call or stop in if you have any questions.
Many, many thanks to all involved in
providing many of our children a fun, winter basketball season. You folks not only made it possible for them
to learn more about a popular American sport, helped them gain some skills in
it, gave them a chance to experience all the lessons that come through
participation in team sports, but also gave them a taste of what it means to be
a part of a Catholic Christian community by being with caring, mentoring adults
who were solid examples for them. God bless you for sharing so much of your time
for the student athletes, whether you were on the Athletic Association board, a
coach, an assistant, or a volunteer during the games.
Speaking of the end of the basketball
season, all players’ uniforms, clean and mended if necessary, should be returned
to school in a bag with the player’s name and grade enclosed. Let’s have them all in by Friday, February
25, at the very latest. Thank you!
We received a request from Donna Haugom, Director for the Jefferson County Office of
Emergency Management to share this with you:

I recently noticed a nice comment on a
substitute’s report (they are always handed in to me at the end of the day by
every substitute). It was from a rather
new-for-us, lower grades sub, a retired teacher who had worked in the Milwaukee
area public schools. She wrote, “I’m
really impressed with the resources St. Henry’s has in all in the classrooms
I’ve subbed in so far – great classroom libraries, math manipulatives,
etc.” I thought I should pass that on
‘cause it’s true!
